Ahoj, tady Martin. Spustil jsem neobvyklý projekt thewayto500k – osobní cestu Evropou, která začala u mé kamarádky Moniky z Apartmánů Chřibská na rozhraní Lužických hor a Českého Švýcarska.
Monika má dar vracet lidi sami k sobě. Když jsem sám tápal, její klidné vedení mi pomohlo znovu slyšet, co je pro mě důležité.
Když jsem letos znovu mířil na sever, napadlo mě: “Jak to vrátit?” Do vysněné hranice půl milionu kilometrů mi chybí asi padesát tisíc. Proto jsem přestavěl svou Octavii na mini-obytku a vyrazil – s logem Apartmánů Chřibská – sbírat po cestě příběhy obyčejných lidí a tipy na místa mimo davy. A hlavně šířit zprávu o místě, kam se vždy vracím jako domů.
Apartmány Chřibská nejsou jen čisté a útulné ubytování. Je to malý ostrůvek ticha, kde se dá nadechnout, dát si pauzu a znovu se potkat sami se sebou. Věřím, že kolem toho vznikne komunita lidí, které spojuje pravdivost, vytrvalost a chuť dělat svět o trochu laskavější.

Hi, I’m Martin. I started an unusual project called thewayto500k—a personal road trip across Europe that began with my friend Monika from Apartmány Chřibská on the border of the Lusatian Mountains and Bohemian Switzerland.
Monika has a gift for helping people reconnect with themselves. When I was wandering, her calm presence helped me hear what truly matters.
Driving north again this year, I asked myself: “How can I give back?” I’m about fifty thousand kilometres away from my dream milestone of half a million. So I converted my Octavia into a tiny camper and set off—with the Apartmány Chřibská logo on the side—to collect stories of everyday people and hidden places off the beaten path. Primarily, I want to share the experience of a place I have always considered home.
Apartmány Chřibská is more than a clean, cosy accommodation. It’s a small island of quiet where you can exhale, pause, and meet yourself again. I believe a community will grow around this—people who value honesty, perseverance, and small acts of kindness.

Hallo, ich bin Martin. Ich habe ein ungewöhnliches Projekt gestartet – thewayto500k: eine persönliche Reise durch Europa, die bei meiner Freundin Monika von den Apartments Chřibská an der Grenze zwischen dem Lausitzer Gebirge und der Böhmischen Schweiz begann.
Monika hat die Gabe, Menschen zu sich selbst zurückzuführen. Als ich auf der Suche war, half mir ihre ruhige Art, wieder auf das zu hören, was wirklich wichtig ist.
Auf meiner weiteren Reise nach Norden stellte ich mir die Frage: „Wie kann ich etwas zurückgeben?“ Mir fehlen noch etwa fünfzigtausend Kilometer bis zu meinem Traumziel von einer halben Million. Also habe ich meinen Octavia zu einem Mini-Wohnwagen umgebaut und mich auf den Weg gemacht – mit dem Logo „Apartmány Chřibská“ –, um Geschichten von gewöhnlichen Menschen zu sammeln und versteckte Orte abseits der Massen zu finden. Vor allem möchte ich von einem Ort erzählen, an den ich immer wieder zurückkehre, als wäre es mein Zuhause.
Die Apartmány Chřibská sind mehr als nur eine saubere und gemütliche Unterkunft. Sie sind eine kleine Oase der Ruhe, in der Sie tief durchatmen, innehalten und wieder zu sich selbst finden können. Ich glaube, dass genau deshalb eine Gemeinschaft entsteht – Menschen, die Aufrichtigkeit, Ausdauer und kleine Gesten der Freundlichkeit schätzen.
